What is Parts Work & Somatic Awareness?

Have you ever felt that “a part” of you wants to change jobs while another “part” of you wants to keep the job you have? Have you ever felt like there is an inner battle going on within you in daily life choices?

Parts work is based on the understanding that the mind is made up of different "parts" or subpersonalities, each with its own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. These parts often develop as adaptive & protective responses to life experiences, especially during childhood. In this course you will learn how to identify these different parts within yourself and help these parts feel heard, understood, and supported so that you can create more inner harmony rather than conflict.

Somatic awareness is the practice of tuning into the body’s sensations, movements, and signals. It bridges the mind-body connection, fostering a deeper understanding of how experiences and emotions manifest in the body. Somatic awareness enhances the ability to sense and trust the body’s signals, fostering intuitive decision-making. By tuning into the body’s signals and sensations, we are connecting to a deeper and more intuitive wisdom that resides within. We will use somatic practices to regulate the nervous system and create a sense of safety & grounding within. Then we will use somatic awareness to find where different “parts” show up in the body.
